The Hagen team performed remarkably during the regular season with 28 wins in 34 games and capped off their season with triumph in the playoffs, overcoming the Kirchheim Knights in the finals.
Garino will surely bring a wealth of experience, defensive prowess, and versatility to the team. After playing 30 games for Movistar Estudiantes last season, where he averaged 10 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists, he fits the profile of what Phoenix is looking for as they adapt to the top level again.

Aged 33, Garino’s journey has taken him across various countries such as the United States, Spain, Lithuania, and France, and he now adds Germany to his map. His professional career began in the United States, and he debuted in the NBA with Orlando Magic in 2017, which was followed by his signing with Baskonia that same year.
Vitoria has a special spot in his journey as his mother resides there and he has strong ties with the city. Moreover, he, alongside his family, initiated the Cachito Mío project, specializing in Argentine empanadas.
In addition to his time in Baskonia, he faced challenges, notably suffering a severe knee injury in 2019. Nevertheless, he managed to recover and continue his career.
With the hopes of forging a significant legacy, Phoenix aims to firmly establish itself in the Bundesliga, and Garino will be instrumental in this project.
